Peter King pointed out that in tomorrow's AFC South game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars, that both these teams will ironically prosper with a loss.
I'm already upset that teams may well want to lose on purpose to get the 1st draft pick, but to have two teams face each other where a loss for both will benefit both teams is just ludicrous.
Until I read Peter King's excellent article, I thought it was just the Colts that would be "Sucking for Luck" with their feeble 2-13 record. The Jag's record is nearly as bad with a 4-11 record and seeing as their also play in the AFC South division, they would not want the Colts to have 1st pick next year, which will give their rivals a franchise quality QB for the next ten years or so. If the Jags win this game, they will give the Colts the first round pick.
Jacksonville have a hard enough time filling their stadium as it is, so I can't see many fans coming to see a game where both teams will want to lose.
Saying that, players and coaches from both the Jags and Colts told Peter King, that they will not be losing on purpose or playing less hard. Maurice Jone-Drew has plenty of beef with the Colts for not picking him in the draft and he is a true warrior of the game, so I expect him to show up. Not too sure about anyone else though.
The fans will want to see reserve players start for both teams, in what has to be the most paradoxical matchup in years. I can't see this being a sell out at all because it will just be too weird for fans to root for the opponent.
