Thanks to Halloween I've changed my NFL game day snack

Now I haven't been writing about food on this site as much I did back in 2009, so apologies for that. Here in the U.K people don't tailgate at games and I'm watching the NFL on T.V late at night. But as it was Halloween coming up, I was thrilled to see nice big pumpkins (my favourite of the root vegetables) at my supermarket.

Knowing that Halloween is such a big oocassion in the U.S Steph and I knew we had to make our first Jack-o-Lantern, but we didn't have a clue how to do it. Thankfully Steph's sister and her fella popped round and showed how to carve it and gut it. So for Halloween night we made a lovely pumpkin risotto.

Because of my slipped disc, we didn't go out partying, and as it was a Monday night, I was able to catch some NFL action. With football comes food and snacks. The Cheetos Crunchies that Steph's sister had brought me back from her holiday a few days prior were well and truly gone the day before, while watching NFL on Sunday, of course. Yet this time I had a new snack: Pumpkin seeds.

Once roasted and with oil and salt this bad boys are excellent and make for a great game day snack!

It was a painful Halloween for my fantasy team, I lost to a weaker team, and I didn't do well in my spread, not thanks to Philip Rivers, who had a dreadful night against the Chiefs. His fumbled snap at the end of the game will haunt him forever and he will never forget the Halloween of 2011.
